RAISING FUNDS FOR LAVENHAM PRE-SCHOOL

If you need inspiration but cannot make one of the Flower Shows this year then we have tickets available for our
Hidden Garden Treasures afternoon/evening being held at Lavenham Village Hall on Saturday 18th June.

Gill Chamberlain, from Garden Rescue Limited, who has been at Chelsea this year will be on hand from
2..00 - 3.00 to talk about how Gardens Should Make you Smile.

I will then be running a floral demonstration from 3.30 - 4.30 using fabulous flowers that we find in our gardens.  Some lucky person will be going home with these as we are putting them into a raffle.

Finally we have Pete Lawrence - if you are an allotment buff then this is your opportunity to come and listen to
someone who has gone through the process of setting up an allotment, and then utilising the produce to cook
things through the season. This is from 7.15 -8.00.  We are having canapés before this so will start the
final session at 6.30.

Tickets for the two afternoon sessions are £10 per session including a cup of tea and cake

Tickets for the evening are £20 and include canapés, and a glass of wine.  Non alcoholic beverage available too.

We are raising money for Lavenham Pre-School - so we do hope that you can make it.

To Book Tickets: Available from Lavenham Tourist Information Centre - top of Lady Street just off the Market Square 01787 248207,  Lavenham Village Hall - behind the Cock Horse Inn and Doctors Surgery -  01787 248599,
Wendy B  1, Mayes Farm, The Common, Lavenham (bottom of Water Street) on 07779 017923

Programme for Hidden Garden Treasures

5/11/2016

It is all very exciting when a plan comes together.  What started as "do you think we could do this?" to "The programme is now available Wendy" has been amazing.  With the help of many we have two great speakers.  Gill Chamberlain and Pete Lawrence and then myself all hoping to inspire you on firstly garden design, me on arranging fabulous flowers and Pete on using what you grow on your allotment.  There will be tea and cake for those attending in the afternoon and at 6.30 prior to Pete speaking we shall be serving canapés and a glass of wine to keep you going.

So why are we holding this afternoon - simple really - Lavenham is in the throws of trying to find funding for a new
Pre-School, which is going to be built on to our really lovely Village Hall.  Sue - the manager of Lavenham Village Hall - and Katherine who is the leader of Lavenham Pre School are taking on a huge project and need all the help they can get. £400,000 is the target.  Gaye and Barbara the ladies who organise Lavenham's Hidden Gardens came up with the idea of possibly organising something the day before, maybe a floral demonstration and a talk and hey presto it has grown into what will be a really informative and fun afternoon and early evening.

Tickets will be available from:

Lavenham Tourist Information Centre, 01787 248207, Lavenham Village Hall 01787 248599
or me Wendy B on 07779 017923 or you can find me at 1, Mayes Farm, The Common, Lavenham (bottom of Water
Street)

WE WILL LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING YOU AND THANK YOU FROM US ALL IN ADVANCE

We have had some sponsorship from our local business community: those to be named so far are The Swan Hotel, Lavenham, for running and providing the prizes for the Pre-School Art Competition - the children were asked to do a drawing of a Hidden Garden Treasure. to be displayed over the weekend of Arts Festival.  Cannot wait to see the winners, although I am sure all the pictures will be fabulous.   Number Ten/The Cock Horse for providing a voucher for one of our lovely speakers, who is giving their time completely free of charge. Jonathan and Ruby Hill at The Priory for accommodating our speaker Pete Lawrence who is making the long journey across to Suffolk and is really looking forward to viewing Lavenham's Hidden Gardens on Sunday.

There is still time Lavenham Businesses to help - we are hoping to run a raffle, so any donations of prizes would be great.

I was asked by the lovely ladies who run Lavenham Hidden Gardens which this year is on the 19th June, whether I would be interested in helping to organise an afternoon and early evening talk and a floral demonstration the day before on
the 18th June and Hidden Garden Treasures is now happening..
