I am a real fan of Lavender. Just love, love, love it. On a scale of 1 - 10 Lavender for me would come in at about 15!
In the Language of Flowers by Catherine Lee, the sweetest little book ever, you can glean the following about
Lavender:
"Lavender - Lavandula - love and devotion"
At the moment there are many choices available in your local garden centres from those gorgeous French
Lavenders with their dancing flower heads, to the more sturdy english varieties. Colours can span from
white, pink through to combination colours and then on to blues, and deep purples.
I love to use lavender and another herb Rosemary in designs. Back to the Language of Flowers
"Rosemary - Rosmarinus officinalis - remembrance"
For a cut lavender we have limited choice just at the moment, but as the season expands our choices
grow too.

Might be worth discussing the use of herbs in arrangements including mint with your florist. All these can add just a touch of texture with the added bonus of gorgeous scent.
